English Yew has been used for hedging in the UK for many generations. English Yew is one of the UK's few native evergreen trees and have been used around churchyards, and for hedging for generations. A truly spectacular specimen, Yew is slow is a slow growing, dense, compact conifer. It can be easily maintained unlike other conifer hedging, as Yew can be pruned back to the wood and will sprout again. They have dark green needles and slightly aromatic foliage. Ultimate height and spread - 6m x 1.5m + 10-20 years.
Where to Plant
Plant full sun to shade, well-draining soil. Avoid heavy or waterlogged sites.Plant 1 per metre for hedge. Weight per rootball - 27kg
