We have a standard flat rate charge per consignment (includes VAT) to England, Wales, and areas of Central Scotland and Northeast Scotland, and some IV postcodes, Scottish Highlands, Islands, and Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight etc. so the more you buy the more you save!!!! Republic of Ireland and Offshore areas such as the Channel Islands, etc require a quote.

We use Fed Ex and APC and Tuffnells couriers for most deliveries of sundries, hedging and plants. Smaller items will be sent via Hermes.
The courier will deliver between 0830-1800hrs.
Once your order has been received and processed you will be notified of date of despatch.
We cannot Guarantee this date, due to delays that the courier may encounter during busy periods, poor weather conditions, or circumstances beyond our control, but we find that over 95% of all orders arrive on the day stated. If you need to arrange a specific date for delivery, please email us after you have placed your order with your preferred date. Standard delivery days are Monday - Friday. If you require a delivery on Saturday, please contact us for a quote.
Our couriers, Fed Ex and APC will require a signature on delivery of your parcels if thre is someone present when item is delivered. If there is no one home, it will be left safe or a card left to phone the courier company. They will attempt 1 delivery and if you (customer) are not home, a card with courier contact details may be left for you (customer) to contact and arrange for re-delivery. It is your (customer) responsibility to contact the courier and arrange for a re-delivery which is suitable for you (customer). If the parcel is returned to us, then you will be charged another delivery charge for a re-deliver. If you would like your parcels to be ‘left with a neighbour’ or ‘left by back door, etc’ this will be carried out at your own risk and under your instructions provided to us BEFORE despatch. Notes left on doors, etc at premises for the courier may NOT BE ACCEPTED by the courier unless specific instructions have been relayed to us prior to despatch and appear on the delivery manifest. If you are not home when delivery of your parcel has been attempted you can contact the designated courier to arrange for a re-delivery. You should have received an email from Scotplantsdirect confirming your order, as well as listing the named courier and consignment number. The following website URL's will provide you with the ability to contact the designated courier of your parcel and arrange for a re-delivery - you will need your consignment number and postcode. The shipment will be held for 5 working days before being returned.
Due to change of couriers the 7-8ft bamboo canes (thick and thin) will be delivered by Tuffnells which is a 3-day service. Tuffnells will make one delivery to premises, and if you the customer cannot be found at home, the parcel will be left safe and you will be carded without liability to Scotplantsdirect. It is the responsibility of you the customer to notify ScotplantsDirect when ordering where you would like the canes left, and if this has not been done, then Tuffnells will leave them safe. If the bamboo canes have to be taken back to the depot, there will be a 50% redelivery charge, payable to us before redelivery is processed. Bamboo Canes (7-8ft) will not be delivered to *offshore locations unless a supplemental charge has been processed. **Supplement charge via courier on bamboo canes 7 & 8ft to postcodes in Anglesey, Dyfed, Powys, Gwynedd, Highlands, Isle of Wight, Cornwall, London, Scottish Offshore, Offshore, BT.

Standard delivery is 3-7 working days (excluding Saturday and Sunday) for all items in stock (excluding 7-8ft bamboo canes) or in season after we have processed your order. We deliver to Northern Ireland, Highlands and Islands of Scotland however these areas do incur a tariff on top of these charges however the majority of Scotland is not affected by this. This is due to the high shipping costs to these areas and we have subsidised as much of the shipping cost as possible and do use Royal Mail where possible as well as Parcel Force. Pot Grown Plants
Pot grown plants are available for despatch 3-7 working days after your order has been received and processed. However on occasion we may have to bring plants from our other nursery in which case despatch will be 5-7 days which will allow us to obtain the plants. If the delay is to be longer than 7 days you will be notified via email to agree a date with you. If you wish to cancel your order at this stage, you may do so and your method of payment will be reimbursed.
Bareroot Plants are delivered between November and March to early April depending on the species. Bareroot Plants are kept at the nursery and ready to despatch within a couple of days once the order has been received and processed. There may be a delay due to the volume of sales during the first few weeks of November when pre-orders for bareroot plants which have been placed late summer / early Autumn take priority, and then we are back to our normal quick turnaround.
During the months of November to April, which is our busiest time for bareroot orders, we try our best to despatch as quick as possible but due to the volume of orders this is not always possible. If you need a delivery by a certain time please contact us either by email or phone and we will be happy to arrange this for you.
When ordering Bareroot Plants in combination with Pot Grown Plants or Sundries please note that Bareroot Plants can only be sent out in November when they are lifted from the fields. We can hold the Pot Grown plants until that time to send out as ONE consignment and ONE delivery cost, but if you require the Pot Grown plants or Sundries to be despatched before that time, then you will be responsible for an additional delivery charge.
Rootball Plants are special orders as the plants have to be lifted from the field at that time. It is important that you plan ahead when ordering rootball plants. Occasionally due to weather or other extraordinary circumstances there may be delays in despatch which will delay your planting plans. We ask that you order well before you need to plant. We will be happy to assist you with delivery dates
During the peak months from March to July there may be a delay in despatch due to the sheer volume of sales. However we will notify you of the delay and if you wish to cancel your order at this time you may.
If your item is not in stock we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Pallet delivery may be required of larger specimen items, i.e. conifers, potted plants, etc or a large volume of smaller pot sizes. Orders requiring delivery on pallets will in most cases be flagged during checkout although in some circumstances the need for a pallet delivery will not arise until we come to despatch an order. If this is the case, you will be contacted to make arrangements*
Our pallet company requires two different contact numbers for the ONSITE contact. Access must be suitable for a large vehicle access, minimum 3 metres wide and 4.5 metres high. Pallet deliveries are classed as ‘KERB SIDE’ and can only be made to the address where clear access can be gained. Delivery trucks will not travel on grass, gravel or any other unsuitable surface.
