Amelanchier bears profuse white flowers in spring followed by edible red fruit changing to black in the autumn. Its tree shape is multi-stemmed palm like and spreading. Ideal for bog gardens as hedging and screening or include in traditional mixed hedging.
Where to Plant
Juneberry or Amelanchier Hedging is perfect for wet, boggy sites, or include in hedge plant mixes. Amelanchier is also ideal as stand alone tree specimen for small to medium gardens. It is attractive to wildlife with its red fruit. Amelanchier is best planted in boggy, damp areas, moist but well drained. Ultimate height - 7m x 6m in 10-12 years.
