Betula Pendula is a fast-growing native tree with gleaming white bark. Silver birch (Betula pendula) is a deciduous, medium sized tree, native to the UK and Europe. Silver birch trees have an elegant flair about them with their light canopy and dropping branches. The white distinctive bark of the birch tree sheds layers and the male yellow-brown catkins April / May contrast with female catkins bright green bringing out some colour.
Silver Birch is hardy and tough and is of great value to wildlife that feed off the catkins produced in the spring.
