Common Laurel hedging plants (Prunus rotundifolia) are the most popular hedging plants in the UK. They are evergreen, easy to plant, easy to maintain and good for almost any gardening project. Laurels are tough, hardy and quick growing forming a dense hedge that can be pruned easily. Common Laurels are a good alternative to quick growing Leylandii conifer hedging.

Where to Grow
Plant full sun to partial shade, well draining soil. Plant 3-4 per metre for single row hedge, or 5-7 double staggered row for a more dense hedge. Ultimate height and spread 5m x 4m. Laurels can be tolerant of seaside locations.
