Boysenberries are becoming one of the more popular super fruits for home gardens.  They are firm like blackberries and sweet like the Loganberry, and Raspberry.  Thornless Boysenberry bushes season of use is July to August.  Boysenberry fruit will be great for late pie making, jellies and jams.  The fruit is round to oblong, deep reddish-purple, with a unique, sweet and juicy flavour. Can be eaten straight off the bush for that extra surprise in flavours!  Be careful and make sure that you watch for the juice staining the hands / fingers.  But they are delicious!

Where to Plant

Plant full sun for best fruiting, tolerates most soil types, water well for the first year.  Make sure that you water the Boysenberry plants well during dry spells.
