Photinia Red Robin (x fraseri) Pot Grown

Photinia x fraseri 'Red Robin' is one of the most visually striking evergreen hedges you can plant in the UK. New leaves emerge a brilliant fire-red before darkening to glossy green, with the cycle repeating after every trim. Photinia takes hard pruning, grows to 3-4 metres, and gives you a fully evergreen screen year round.

Pot-grown Red Robin can be planted any month of the year — the most flexible option if you've missed the bare-root window. We stock sizes from 20-30cm Little Red Robin (dwarf form for low hedges and containers) up to 90-120cm hedging plants for immediate screening.

The Carre Rouge variety is also available for accent planting where you want the most intense, sustained red colour.

How to get the best red flush

The red flush is a response to pruning — the more you trim (at the right time), the more red new growth you get. A spring trim followed by a mid-summer trim typically produces two strong red flushes in a season.
