ScotPlants Direct Returns & Refund Policy

We truly value your business and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If something isn’t right, we’re here to help.

The full amount for all products must be paid at the time of ordering. By completing your payment, you agree to our terms, including this Returns & Refund Policy.

UK law treats perishable and sourced goods (such as live plants) differently from non-perishable items. To make things clear, this policy is divided into three sections:

  • Perishable goods – e.g. live plants, trees, shrubs
  • Sourced goods – e.g. custom or special-order plants outside our regular range
  • Non-perishable goods – e.g. garden accessories, fertilisers, feeds, etc.

1. Perishable Goods (Plants, Trees, and Shrubs)

Right to cancel:
If you cancel your order before it has been processed, you are entitled to a full refund, including our standard rate delivery charge.

Damaged or faulty goods:
Please inspect all plants immediately upon arrival. If they are damaged, faulty, or not as described, contact us within 1 working day of delivery. Once accepted and planted, we cannot accept returns due to the perishable nature of the goods.

If plants arrive damaged or faulty:

  • Inspect the goods immediately upon arrival
  • Notify us within 1 working day
  • You are entitled to a full refund, including standard delivery costs
  • ScotPlants Direct will cover the return cost of damaged plants

Non-refundable scenarios:
Once plants have been planted, they cannot be returned.

Surplus products:
If you have ordered too many plants, please contact us within 1 working day. We will advise whether a return is possible. Return shipping costs will be your responsibility.


 

2. Sourced Goods (Custom or Special-Order Plants)

Right to cancel:
If you cancel your order before processing begins and no sourced products are underway, you will receive a full refund, including standard delivery costs. However, once a sourced product is being prepared, the order becomes non-refundable.

Damaged or faulty goods:
Inspect all sourced goods immediately upon arrival. If they are faulty or not as described, contact us within 1 working day. Once accepted after inspection, they cannot be returned.

If sourced plants arrive damaged or faulty:

  • Inspect goods at the time of arrival
  • Notify us within 1 working day
  • You are entitled to a full refund, including standard delivery costs
  • ScotPlants Direct will cover the return cost of damaged plants

Non-refundable scenarios:
Once sourced plants have been planted, they cannot be returned.


3. Non-Perishable Goods (Garden Accessories, Feeds, Fertilisers, etc.)

Right to cancel:
If you cancel your order before it has been processed, you will receive a full refund, including our standard delivery costs.

Damaged or faulty goods:
Inspect your goods on arrival. If they are damaged or not as described, contact us within 1 working day.

If non-perishable goods arrive damaged or faulty:

  • Contact us with your name, order number, address, and details of the goods to return
  • Handle the goods carefully and retain the original packaging for return
  • You are entitled to a full refund, including standard delivery costs
  • Return shipping is your responsibility. Goods must be returned in their original condition, or we may deduct any loss in value due to handling

Reimbursement

Refunds are processed within 7 working days of receiving returned goods, using your original payment method.
