Laurel Hedging- Rootballs
Rootball Laurel hedging plants give you larger, more established laurel hedges than bare root — ideal when you want immediate visual presence without paying pot-grown prices. Tough evergreen shrubs with thick glossy leaves, fast growth and excellent screening density.
Rootball Laurel — three varieties stocked
-
Common Laurel (Prunus rotundifolia) — classic broad-leaved screening laurel
-
Cherry Laurel (Prunus laurocerasus) — same species, broad glossy leaves, fast establishment
-
Portuguese Laurel (Prunus lusitanica) — smaller darker leaves, more compact, takes formal shaping
Rootball plants are field-grown and lifted with the soil ball intact, wrapped in biodegradable hessian which can be planted directly — the hessian decomposes in the ground.
Rootball season — November to April
Rootball laurel is despatched November to April annually, while plants are dormant. Plant within a few days of delivery and keep well-watered through the first year. Rootball laurels are cheaper than pot-grown for the same plant size, and a sensible middle option for taller (3-4ft / 5-6ft) hedge plants.
