Frequently Asked Questions

What are the best Black Friday plant deals for starting a fruit or hedge garden?

The standout deals are on Scottish-grown bare root hedging—such as Green Beech and Hawthorn—and high-yield raspberry canes like Glen Ample and Autumn Bliss. These offer excellent value for establishing privacy screens and productive fruit gardens at the lowest prices of the year.

How do I choose between different bare root hedging plants for privacy versus decorative value?

For maximum privacy, select dense species like Green Beech or Hawthorn; for decorative appeal, Rosa rugosa provides attractive blooms and hips. Consider plant height at sale, ultimate growth habit, soil suitability, and whether wildlife value is a priority.

Which bare root raspberry canes should I buy for high yield and disease resistance?

Scottish-bred varieties like Glen Ample (summer fruiting) and Joan J (autumn fruiting) are chosen for robust yields and good disease resistance in UK climates. Consider cropping time to match your preferred harvest season.

What are the best budget-friendly options for establishing a hedge during Black Friday sales?

Bulk bare root packs of native hedging—such as Green Beech and Hawthorn—offer the best per-plant value. Opting for smaller plant heights (e.g., 40-60cm) can further reduce initial costs while ensuring quick establishment with proper care.

How do I compare hedging plants versus fruit canes for my garden this season?

Hedging plants primarily provide structure, screening, and habitat, while fruit canes deliver edible crops and seasonal interest. Assess your space, desired function (privacy, harvest, wildlife), soil, and maintenance preference before choosing.

Are all plants suitable for my part of the UK and what support do you offer?

All plants are selected and nursery-grown in Scotland for strong performance UK-wide. Each order is backed by a 12-month guarantee and expert support to help with site selection and aftercare.
