Macrantha have an upright growth habit than other Escallonia plants. Theyare fast growing evergreen shrub averaging about 1 foot per year. Escallonia macrantha have deep pink / red almost rosy tubular cluster flowers with a honey fragrance and against the background of its glossy green slightly scented leaves makes this Escallonia a special attraction for your garden. As with all Escallonia Plants it is well suited for coastal areas as a hedge or specimen plant. Ultimate height and spread 2.5m x 2.5m after 10-20 years.
Where to Plant:
Plant full sun to partial shade well drained soil, well draining. Escallonia are tough and hardy, but can be suffer some damage during a severe winter. They will bounce back in the spring.
