Description

Euonymus Jean Hugues is the ideal hedging plant for traditional gardens, or just as an easy alternative to Box (to escape Box Blight). It is very easy to plant, maintain, and grow, and will remain a thick, dense hedge year-round. It is particularly low growing, with a fairly hardy nature, and will produce fragrant flowers through June/July.

Ensure to plant in a sunny spot to get the best out of your hedge. Growth rate - 10-20cm per year. Soil type - Normal. Growth final height - 1.2m-1.5m.

We recommend planting your Jean Hugues in a nice, sunny spot, though it can also tolerate full shade if necessary.

Common questions

Bare root plants are field-grown and lifted dormant — the cheapest way to plant a hedge. Pot grown plants have an established root system and can be planted year-round. Root ball plants are mature field-grown plants lifted with a soil ball for instant height.
Pot grown plants can go in the ground at any time of year. Bare root is supplied dormant from November to March, and root ball plants are lifted in that same window.
3 plants per metre for a standard single-row hedge, or 5 per metre (staggered double row) for a dense screen.
