Description

The Rock Rose is an evergreen shrub that is one of the hardiest cistus, producing white flowers with yellow centres that emerge from rosy pink buds in June. Unusual plant in that at the end of each day the petals on all the flowers fall off and an entire new crop opens the next day! Dark green summer foliage with striking reddish, coppery or purplish colours in winter. Drought tolerant, ideal for banks and slopes, beds and borders. 

Where to Plant

Plant partial shade, well-draining soil, frost hardy. Eventual height and spread 1m x1m 5-10 years.  Pinch young plants back after flowering to encourage growth. Wayward stems can be lightly pruned to keep plant symmetrical - never prune hard.
