Chippewa is perfect for containers in small gardens or planted in groups to extend the flowering season and to maximise effect. Easy to grow with an upright habit.
Where to Plant
Plant full sun to partial shade but will tolerate most situations, tough and hardy. Ideal soil pH 4.5-6. Make sure the soil is well draining. Water well the first year and during dry weather spells. Height 50-75cm in 10 years.
Common questions
Bare root plants are field-grown and lifted dormant — the cheapest way to plant a hedge. Pot grown plants have an established root system and can be planted year-round. Root ball plants are mature field-grown plants lifted with a soil ball for instant height.
Pot grown plants can go in the ground at any time of year. Bare root is supplied dormant from November to March, and root ball plants are lifted in that same window.
