Description

The Butterfly Bush Royal Red is an eye-catching shrub with arching branches, lance shaped leaves and long breathtaking panicles of scented red-purple flowers, full of nectar to encourage wildlife, such as ladybirds into the garden. Ultimate height and spread after 5-10 years is 4m x 4m.  Buddleja is drought tolerant and resistant to pollution. Perfect for wildflower situations, beds and borders and formal or informal gardens. 

Where to Plant

Tolerates many situations but grows best in sunny, well drained situation and prefers chalky, clay, loamy, or sandy soils.  Buddleja can be cut back nearly to the ground in winter and deadheading the blooms will keep plants blooming longer during the season.
