Buxus sempervirens is the traditional small-leaved evergreen for formal hedges and topiary, tolerating shade and clipping to a crisp line. Supplied 100-125cm tall as a mature field-grown root ball for an instant established hedge; plant 2 per metre. Slow growing at 10-15cm a year.

Planting
Plant as soon as possible after delivery in a trench with the top of the root ball level with the soil, firm in well, water thoroughly and keep watered through the first spring and summer. Leave the hessian on; it rots away.
