Description
Cupressocyparis Green Leylandii hedging conifers are the most popular fast growing conifers in the UK. Green Leylandii hedging is vigorous, hardy providing screening and privacy. Leylandii has aromatic green-yellow foliage and can grow 1m per year. It is a very versatile plant, tolerates most soil types and excellent for coastal conditions. Fully hardy. Ultimate height and spread - 8-10m.
Where to Plant
Plant 3-4 per metre for a screen or hedge. Green leylandii can be planted in full sun to dappled shade, tolerates most soil types. Water well during dry spells, and during first year of growing.
Common questions
Bare root plants are field-grown and lifted dormant — the cheapest way to plant a hedge. Pot grown plants have an established root system and can be planted year-round. Root ball plants are mature field-grown plants lifted with a soil ball for instant height.
Pot grown plants can go in the ground at any time of year. Bare root is supplied dormant from November to March, and root ball plants are lifted in that same window.
