Rhododendron Albert Schweitzer is a hardy Hybrid with an upright, bushy growing habit. This evergreen shrub has green leathery dark green leaves that will show off the colourful dark pink buds that burst into clusters of rose-pink flowers with a conspicuous dark red blotch, late spring / early summer. It was awarded the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit).
Ideal for banks and slopes, beds and borders, containers and cottage type gardens. Albert Schweitzer is a low maintenance shrub.
Where to Plant
Plant in full sun to partial shade, moist and well-draining, soil. Prefers clay, loamy or sandy soils, and should have an acid ph. Ultimate height and spread 2m x 2m after about 20 years.
