Characteristics
Leycestria formosa also known as Flowering nutmeg, Granny's curls and Pheasant berry. Leycesteria is a vigorous, deciduous shrub grown for its pendant racemes of white flowers and showy dark red bracts and purple –red pendant clusters of fragrant berries in autumn. A truly unusual yet brilliant shrub for the garden. Ultimate height and spread of 2.5m x 2.5m after 10 years.
Where to Plant
Perfect for COASTAL gardens, beds and borders. Low maintenance, very easy to grow making this great for Woodland planting. Drought Tolerant. Plant in free draining soil, full sun to dappled shade in a bit of a shelter. Dislikes heavy, wet soils.
