Description
Cistus florentinus is gorgeous evergreen shrub mostly seen in Seaside Gardens as it is one of the few plants that can tolerate the harsh sea winds and salty conditions. They also like the light, Sandy soil often found in these areas although they will adapt to any soil conditions. This Cistus has a show of pure white flowers with a small golden yellow centre, delicate petals contrast will against the deep green, spear shaped leaves. Ultimate height – 100cm in 5-10 years.
Where to Plant
Plant full sun, well drained/ light Sandy soil. Ideal for beginners, easy to maintain and hardy. Cistus does not like being moved once it is planted – so choose its home with care.
