Description

Magnolia Sunsation is believed to be one of the best yellow flowering yellow magnolias. This magnificent magnolia has large buds that take their time to open which makes it one of the later magnolias to bloom early to mid-May. Its late blooms are perfectly timed to avoid chances of damage from frost allowing Magnolia Sunsation to purloin a sensational show of its 7-inch-wide burst of deep yellow hue cuplike/ tulip shape flowers, contrasting blush of purple at its base providing a two-toned effect that is spellbinding.

Where to Plant

Plant full sun to partial shade, well drained, acidic moist soil. Prune to desired shape and remove dead and broken branches after flowering. Apply a winter mulch after the ground freezes for its first winter. Remove mulch in early spring before new growth emerges.
