Description
Skimmia japonica Temptation is one of the best evergreen Skimma shrubs. Self-pollinating, with masses of creamy white flowers, followed by masses of red berries from September / October and lasting at least 6-7 months.
Temptation has year round interest beginning with its glossy green leaves, incredible show of red berries and flower buds in the winter, and impressive creamy white flowers in the Spring. Then in autumn the flowers are replaced by green berries that turn bright red about September.
Skimmia Temptation is compact, slow growing and easy to maintain. Would be spectacular in boarders, containers, or anywhere in the garden that needs a bit of winter colour.
Where to Plant
Skimmia Temptation prefers to be in partial shade but will tolerate full sun. Soil preferred is chalky or loamy soil, moist, but well-draining. Ultimate height and spread of about 1m x 0.6m after about 10-20 years.
