Description
Clematis Hendersonii Rubra is an evergreen climbing clematis with fragrant white flowers, deep pink on the outside of the tepals. Its shiny green leaves and thick green stems make this a very vigorous growing plant that will cover archways, pergolas fences and be there all year round. Spring will bring on the abundant fragrant white flowers with a tinge of red making this clematis one of the redder coloured than other in the same category. One of the early blooming clematis plants that add colour to an otherwise dull time of the year. Eventual size is 5m and sometimes can be taller.
Where to Plant
Plant in full sun or partial shade for best results in well-draining soil. Clematis Hendersonii Rubra requires little or no pruning. However, if growth needs to be restricted, pruning is recommended after flowering. Water during dry spells as clematis tend to be thirsty plants.
