Description
Ilex Ingramii is a dense, bushy evergreen shrub with spiny cream speckled dark green leaves / cream white margins and flushed pink when young. Ideal as a hedging prickly barrier as its unusual yet stunning pink young shoots will make this hedge / shrub stand out in gardens.
Holly ingramii will provide a dense cover providing great nesting places for birds, may be used by hedgehogs and other small mammals for hibernation.
This variety of holly has become very poplar due to its unusual foliage colour. Something new yet unusual for the gardens.
Ideal for coastal gardens, beds and borders, or as specimen shrub in containers. Low maintenance
Where to Plant
Plant in well drained or moist soil, full sun but will tolerate partial shade. Likes chalky, clay, loamy or sandy soil, but will tolerate all types if well-draining soil. Ultimate height and spread about 150cm x150cm in 10 years. Prune back in summer if needed.
