This Siberian Blueberry is a honeysuckle bush which produces large, edible, elliptical berries similar in colour and flavour to the blueberry. Honeberries are partially self fertile and sold in pairs to increase pollination. Honeberry plants are becoming more popular among the home garden growers. The honeyberry superfruit is rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants. Honeyberries are sweet enought to be eaten fresh off the bush, or made into jam, jelly or even ice cream. Fruiting is late spring to summer, fruit is borne after white flowers appear on bush. Ultimte height and spread 1.5m x 1.5m.
Where to Plant
Honeyberry plants should be planted in full sun to partial shade, well draining soil. They are tolerant of most soil types and are quick to grow. Honeyberry bushes are drought resistant when mature, also disease resistant. Water well during the first year to especially during dry spells. Fruits need a good supply of water for fruits to be juicy and good size.
