Dixi is one of the recommended northern high bush blueberry varieties for home gardens. Easy to grow, self-fertile blueberry bushes that will give you a good crop. The blueberry fruit is sweet, medium sized berries. Dixi is a mid / late season blueberry variety that has been a proven variety for gardens or allotments. It will grow to about 4ft with about the same spread.
Where to Plant:
Plant blueberry plants in a good, well-draining soil, slightly acidic. The soil should be amended with some ericaceous compost to promote the needed acidity that the blueberryt bushes need. Water well during the dry spells as fruit is 90% water. Make sure you fertilse with a rhododendron / azalea feed and do not feed after mid-July. Remember that blueberry bushes do not like to be waterlogged.
