Where to Plant

Cucumbers can be put in greenhouse for growing. Keep the greenhouse warm and humid. Plant two cucumber plants about 45cm apart. You can grow them in grow bags, or containers.

Encourage cucumber plants to climb to get better yields by using canes, string, or other supports. When the plant reaches the top of the support, pinch off the growing tip oif the plant. When the plant begins to fruit, make sure that you pinch off the end of each side shoot but leave two leaves after each fruit. This will help more side shoots which will bring on bigger yields.

Remove the male flowers – these are the ones with the plain stalk. Female flowers have tiny cucumber between the bottom of the flower and the stem.

Keep the plant well-watered, and damp down the pathways in the green house or spray to keep the area humid which cucumbers love in greenhouse environment.
