Sempervivums are succulent, rosette-forming evergreen flowering perennials. They are commonly known as houseleeks and comprise of about 40 species in the Crasulaceae family. These perennials form mats composed of tufted leaves and in favourable conditions spread rapidly via offsets. Sempervivums are a great groundcover for dry,sunny spots and central for rock gardens, scree, raised beds, etc. Best grown in containers, but will thrive in bricks, driftwood, rock gardens, gravel gardens and vertical walls. Plant in sunny, outdoor position, in a well-drained soil with 25% sharp horticultural grit added for drainage. Available in Special Collector's pack of 6 Sempervivums ready to plant.
Top Tip: A layer of grit should be added to the surface of the soil or compost to further aid drainage.
