Prunus Hessei is the perfect small garden tree, with its bushy head smothered in white flowers in March. Its foliage is likewise attractive beginning as bright green and turning darker with slightly variegated with a mottled edge of pink , white and purple. Hessel in the autumn is a stunning specimen of red, purple and yellow colours – truly a show off! Ultimate height 2 x 2 metres in 20 years.
Where To Plant
Plant full sun in well draining soil, tolerating most types except wet or very shallow chalky soils. Water well to establish first year.
