Prunus nipponica Ruby also known as the Japanese Alpine Cherry originates from Japan. It is one of the hardiest of cherry trees, very well suited for cold climates. Its leaves are serrated and the bark is gray. In autumn its leaves turn yellow and orange - red which is rare autumnal colours for a cherry tree. Ruby gives a brilliant show of very light pink / white single flowers first half of the spring. Perfect little tree for all gardens as it will grow to a height of about 5 metres in about 20 years. Plant full sun to partial shade, sandy, loamy and clay soils, well-draining. Available 5 Litre Pot Grown, 80cm stem budded and blooming.
