The Tulip Tree is mainly named from the shape of its flower that are cup shaped, greenish orange / yellow. Its native habitat is the Eastern US making this unique tree a hardy specimen. Tulip trees bear striking flowers in late spring that is a colourful orange / green tulip shaped flower. The leaves of the Tulip Tree are uniquely shaped, bright green about 3-8 inches long and as wide. Be prepared for a stunning fall show of colour when its leaves turn yellow to golden yellow. The Tulip Tree is a large tree fast growing tree with ultimate height of 20m in 20 years.
When to Plant
Plant full sun to partial shade, well-draining moist soil. Tulip tree is suited for parks, large garden tree, screening, city or urban sites.
