Acer Campestre or Field Maple is the only native maple for the UK. Striking lobed leaves with yellow autumn colour and tolerant of waterlogged sites make this an excellent selection for woodlands, gardens, almost anywhere.
Field maple is also valuable to wildlife, including species such as ladybirds, moths, etc. The nectar and pollen of the Acer Campestre for the birds, bees and small mammals make this an excellent tree for planting.
Acer Campestre will tolerate most soil types, and likes waterlogged areas. Ultimate height about 20 metres but usually smaller.
