The Quince is a native fruit tree to Persia and resembles a cross between an apple and a pear. The fruit is very fragrant and has a balanced sweet-tart flavour that is excellent for jellies or preserves, pastry tarts and pies.  The fruit is firm and when picked fresh, are cut into thin slices and eaten with mouth-watering delight.  Quince is excellent fruit for wildlife and the enjoyable aroma can be sensed from long distances.
