Thuja Atrovirens or Western Red Cedar is a useful alternative to Leylandii hedging. It is slower growing but has shiny olive green foliage with a beautifully aromatic scent when freshly cut. Its average growth is about 45/60cm per year and adapts to most soil types and situations. Easy to maintain and unlike Leylandii Western Red Cedar can be cut back into the old wood. Another great evergreen hedging for that all year round privacy and screening. Scotplantsdirect offer competitive prices and quantity discounts for multiple purchases!!
