Deciduous delightful small tree, suitable for most gardens, landscape projects or as specimen tree.  Round to oval female catkins, long, brown when young, growing and opening with yellow stamens in early spring.  Tree stem dark purple-brown, pendulous twigs.  Pyramidal habit with branches pendulous toward outer ends
