Goji Berries
Lycium barbarum
Also known as Goji Berry, this Chinese native is an attractive, small shrub that grows to about 6ft in height. Light purple, bells shaped flowers bloom in May and continue through the summer. Flowers are followed by red berries that ripen continually from mid summer to late fall. In China the fruit is eaten fresh or dried like raisins and used in many dishes. Goji berries are among the highest antioxidants, have more carotene than carrots, and contain all essential amino acids and minerals. If you want health-boosting berries on tap, you should consider investing in a Goji berry bush or two
