Buddleja commonly known as the Butterfly Bush has nearly  100 species and nearly all are shrubs. There are evergreen and deciduous species. There leaves are lanceolate and arranged in opposite pairs on the stems. Buddleja flowers are produced in dense panicles from 10-50cm long with each individual flower a tubular shape about 1 cm long. Flower colours vary from white to yellow, rich in nectar and often strongly scented. They are easy to grow and would be a rich and colourful addition to any hedge planting or as a single specimen plant
